I have to apologize...due to the state of my own Mental Health, I'm unable to take new chats at this time.

Welcome to 7cups, you have found a unique site where support are available both emotionally and mentally. I have been a part of this community since 2015. Just like in real life, there are ups and downs here as well, no point in lying to you. But together we can pull through the dark times.

I have experience with emotional and mental issues, both in myself and those who are close to me. It can be hard but it doesn't need to be. I want to be here for you…I can be your support, your shoulder to lean (or cry) on. Or if you just want to chat, I am here.

This is a judgement-free area. I only ask no sex chat please...I am not here for sexting or hook-ups. This isn't the place for it, let's all be supportive of each other and understand that we need each other to lean on.

So, send me a message (even if I am off-line) and we will connect. Talk to you soon.... <3 Keo

Piercings as preventative measure

...See more Anyone ever heard of ear piercings as migraine prevention? **NO? What would you like to know? Here’s a little information for you to think about. Daith piercing has become one of the popular alternative treatments for migraine. Daith is the innermost cartilage fold in the ear. This process is to mimic acupuncture on the ear. Though there is no concrete medical evidence of daith piercing to work for migraines, many migraine sufferers say that it helps with their migraines. Another area of the ear where a piercing may be placed to aid in migraine pain is the tragus. Tragus is the small cartilage partially covering the opening of your ear. Tragus is often pierced for other reasons, however, it has been used for migraines. Recommendations of getting a daith or tragus piercing is all based on peer to peer. Medical recommendations are limited due to the limited amount of information on daith piercings and its effectiveness. Personal careful research is strongly recommended prior to having one placed. **YES, you have, that’s awesome :) Do you have one? How is your migraine? What are your thoughts about it?

...See more There are different options available to treat migraines. If you are one, who would like to try non pharmaceutical interventions, here is a list of alternative treatments for migraines. 1. Diet changes: Oftentimes certain foods are a trigger for migraines. Caffeine, chocolates, and cheese just to name a few. By limiting, avoiding, and or omitting these foods can help prevent migraines. 2. Stress management: Stress changes the levels of hormones and molecules in the body as well as vasoconstriction of the vessels causing an increase in pressure therefore initiating migraines in some. 3. Aromatherapy: Using essential oils like lavender, peppermint, and/or ginger either by smelling or applying on skin can help relax the body to help ease the pain 4. Herbs: Studies have shown that certain herbs can help with preventing migraines 5. Massage: Helps with stress reduction and tension relief 6. Acupuncture: The use of fine needles into points in the body helps release chemicals that block out pain, therefore helping with migraine pain. These are just some alternative treatments for migraines. If you have others that you have used and have been successful with it, please share it with us.
Headache vs Migraine

...See more Headache vs Migraine: Are they the same thing? By description headaches and migraine can be similar in symptomatology. By definition, the differences in symptoms felt or experienced will be noted. According to the Mayo Clinic, headache is pain felt in any region of the head and may occur on one side or both, it can be isolated or pain may travel at a specific area, and may have a quality of pain described as strong and tight pressure. Migraine is a pain or sensation, described as throbbing or pulsing and usually on one side of the head and is accompanied with other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sounds, and smells. The pain is bad enough that it interferes with one’s activities of daily living. There are many types of headaches. The most common types are Tension headache, Cluster headache, and Sinus headache. Tension headaches are pain that have been described that start at the back of the head and spread towards the top of the head. Cluster headaches are headaches that present itself just as its name suggests. They are painful headaches occurring in clusters and usually daily around the same time, though it can happen several times during the day. Sinus headaches are headaches starting at the sinuses, many times caused by a viral (or bacterial) illness making one congested due to the swelling in the nasal and sinus passages. Types of migraines are migraines with or without aura, hemiplegic, menstrual, vestibular, and status migrainosus. These were discussed at an earlier post. Though causes of either headache or migraine are similar, the intensity and severity of the pain differs along with symptoms that may or may not be associated with the pain. Treatment can vary as well depending on the symptoms and it could be as simple as rest, ice, and drinking water. There are over the counter medications available as well as prescription ones. It is best to contact your primary care physician or general practitioner for an evaluation and to discuss the best treatment options available for you. https://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/headache/basics/definition/sym-20050800 https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/migraine-headache/symptoms-causes/syc-20360201
Types of Migraines

...See more Did you know that there are different types of Migraines? **Most common ones are migraines with and without aura. Auras are symptoms one senses before a migraine headache comes on. These could be visual symptoms such as seeing lines, shapes, and or flashes. Other symptoms could also be sensations of tingling in your arms and legs. People with migraine aura often say that their aura is their warning signal that a migraine is coming on. **Hemiplegic migraines are those that cause a temporary weakness, possible slight paralysis, on one side of the body and may or may not accompany a headache.. Can be often mistaken for a stroke. However, this weakness/paralysis can last 24 hours, however can last up to less than 72 hours. **Menstrual migraines usually come on 2-3 days before the menstrual cycle and within the first few days of the womans cycle. This migraine is primarily caused by the estrogen and progesterone level changes in a womans body. Fortunately, this type of migraine only occurs once a month and in females. **Vestibular migraines symptom is not pain on the head, it is dizziness. Vestibular refers to the inner ear, which controls our balance. When a migraine of this type occurs, the person does not have a headache, they feel dizziness, nausea and vomiting, balance issues, feeling unsteady, disoriented or confused. and extreme motion sickness, When one experiences this, they usually stay in bed until the symptoms last. **Migraines that last more than 72 hours are called status migrainosus. Often people need to go to the hospital (Emergency room) to help alleviate symptoms of pain, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. Intravenous (IV) medications are often needed to help control pain and symptoms unrelieved by other medications taken by mouth or intranasal. Also, IV fluids are needed to rehydrate the body. So remember, it is best to seek medical advice and evaluation to be properly diagnosed with which type of migraine you are experiencing and to be prescribed the best treatment for it.

...See more Ever wake up with a Migraine headache? I am sure for many of us, waking up to a migraine headache is one of the most annoying and difficult way of starting the day. I, personally, usually wake up at least 2-3 times a month, often more. There are many possible causes for morning migraine headaches such as: -Mental health conditions i.e. anxiety and depression -Sleep patterns -Dehydration -Caffeine withdrawals -Medications -Hormones -Underlying health conditions i.e. -Sleep Apnea (briefly stop breathing during sleep) can be related to snoring -Hypertension (high blood pressure) -Glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyeball) How often do you wake up with a migraine headache? And what are your ways to prevent them, if any?

She's a great person - a real listener. I couldn't thank her enough for giving her free time to me and really trying her best to help me. I was real depressed and she helped me a lot.
Nice going
I really appreciate the advice Kismet could give me. I came to her with a moral dilemma/scenario that is currently very-much in my mind. Whist my question to her contained quite a controversial topic, she wasn't quick to judge and kept asking relevant questions. I really enjoyed getting this of my chest with someone being so understanding and professional. I nevermuch considered looking for "real" advice on the internet, however in my first experience with 7cupsoftea I have now found a listening ear that I may perhaps also consult in the future. Even-though this is my first experience with this service, and thus my reference frame may be that of a novice user, I would like to emphasize that Kismet deserves full marks for the way she helped me. Thanks again for the great help Kismet & 7cupsoftea!
