Hi there! My name is Roo, and welcome to my profile!

For members:

I am so glad that you've decided to reach out and talk about whatever it is that is on your mind! I know how scary and intimidating it can seem sometimes, but just know that I am here to provide a safe, positive, and nonjudgmental space for you to talk ❤

The topics I specialize in are LGBTQ+ related issues, and anxiety, but I promise to do my best to help you no matter what you may be struggling with! I also am willing to talk about issues regarding sexuality, or issues regarding sex. This does NOT mean I am willing to engage in a sexual chat WHATSOEVER. Some topics I'm not so good at are eating disorders and trauma. Sometimes there is a better suited listener, and I just want to make sure you are receiving the best support possible! If you feel we might not make a good fit, you can click >
here< to browse for other listeners.

I DO NOT take chats on self-harm, as these are triggering topics for me. Thank you for understanding!

For Listeners:

I am also a member of the verifiers team, so I can conduct a mock chat with you to help you earn the verified listeners badge. To learn about this and apply for a mock chat, click >

I am a former Quality Teen Star, Support Team Leader, Feed Team Leader, and Chat Supporter/Peer Supporter. If you have any questions regarding to this, don't hesitate to ask!

 About me

My name is Roo and my pronouns are she/her. I live in the USA with my 4 chicken children (and my family of course). I love to dance, read, listen to music, and to paint. I am a self-proclaimed literature JUNKIE and quote enthusiast. I consider myself to be an advocate for mental illness and equality. I believe everyone deserves to feel loved and respected 💕

I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and I support people of all sexual/gender/romantic identities.🌈

I joined 7 cups in May of 2017 while seeking support during a difficult time in my life. In October of 2017 I signed up to be a listener, in hopes of making a positive impact on other's lives, and surrounding myself with love and compassion. I am very passionate about the 7 cups community, and I am always looking for someplace to improve myself :)

Lovely person reading my bio, here are some things I want you to know:

You are strong. Stronger than you could ever know. You are alive, right now, at this very moment! Do you know how much strength it takes to just be alive?

You are beautiful. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Often times we lack the ability to see the beauty in ourselves that others see in us. Regardless of how you look, you are beautiful, inside and out.

You are worth it. Your self worth can not be measured by anything anyone says, or what your brain tells you either! You deserve love, happiness, and respect. You deserve to get better.

I believe in you. I think that everyone has the ability to heal, to pursue their goals, and to have good mental health. You are no different! No matter what is going on in your life, or how difficult your struggles might be, I am rooting for you!

I am here for you. We all come from different walks of life, and I will never judge you because of yours. I am here to support you and offer kindness, sympathy, and compassion. I hope that we can be friends!

1 Year on 7cups!
Positivity & Gratitude / by Kanga
Last post
December 2nd, 2018
...See more One year ago today... My profile popped up on 7cups.com "HeyItsRoo" I didn't think much of it. I was excited to help people, I was excited for new opportunities. But what I didn't know then, is that it would turn into so much more. I had been a member for about a month before I decided to sign up as a listener. If I'm being honest, I wasn't in the best place in my life to become a listener, but I thought to myself "At least I can help other people who are struggling like me". So I took the active listening course and began my listener journey. Never would I have expected to find a passion in this site like I did. With every kind review my heart fluttered and I was so happy to be helping these people who were in so much pain. As time passed, I met more and more people. Not just members, but listeners as well. Friendships were formed. I didn't realize that it was even possible to have a bond like I did amongst my peers on 7cups. It felt like everyone was a big family, and we all wanted to help each other and encourage each other and huggle one another (hehehe). Then I began to take on leadership roles. I became a moderator around the end of November 2017. I thought I was prepared, I knew I could be a good leader. Boy, was I wrong. Being a moderator was SO difficult. I realized that I still had so much to learn about patience and understanding and compassion and being able to keep my calm in a situation. I reached out to other moderators, and they helped me. They shared their tips, they offered to join me to mod. The kindness of other people is what helped push me through this buffer and I was able to come out of it a better person, a better moderator, and a better leader. More recently I have taken on other leadership roles where I am responsible for being the person who helps out people who are struggling in their listener roles like I was. It really has been incredible, because I acknowledge my growth as a listener, and then I see these other listeners who I can see SO much potential in, and I just know they are going to do great things and help a lot of people. So after all of that, my point was, in a year, this site has helped me to grow so much. I have learned so much, I have made so many friends, and I can't wait for what's to come. I want to thank some people now. I know, I know I am always one for all of the cheesy stuff but honestly I am being completely genuine with everything I've said (and will say bc this is really long sorry) @Erato You have helped me SO much on my listener journey. I always have to mention you whenever I discuss stuff like this because although you were never officially my mentor, I feel like you have always been their to help guide me and answer my questions. You are also just a pretty freaking awesome pizza, loaf chu! @River Caught chu my friend! Thank you for always being there for me. You honestly brighten my day whenever I chat with you. You are so adorable and you're always looking out for other people. I am so grateful to be your friendo! @neverendingMusic92 Julia! You have been such an inspiration since when I first saw you in TL. You are seriously an incredible example of a peer supporter, and I hope you know that! @Kate Thank you for letting me constantly poke you XD You have been so patient and helpful and I am so so grateful to have you as our teen manager, you do an outstanding job! @AnyaS It has been so fun chatting with you about dance and such, but you also have set a great example in the rooms and in all of your roles. Thank you for answering all of my questions and always being there! @Lucy We don't really talk anymore, but when I first joined 7cups you were always there in TL to answer my silly newbie questions (I know I was super annoying when I first joined cups, lol) so thank you for having patience with me! @Frankie If you ever return I want you to get this message. You are such an incredible hooman and you never failed to make me laugh. Aside from you being a silly bean, you are also super duper compassionate and caring and I knew that I could always reach out to you if I needed a huggle :p @PineappleCranberries Ashie! From the beginning, we have always had these stupid inside jokes and crazy shenanigans. Thanks for sticking by my side no matter what and always being pokeable in le PMs @alizayyy123 Aunt Alizay! I haven't seen you around for awhile but I hope you see this. You are so sweet but also super duper funny, you always make me laugh. Thanks for being my friend, OG Alizay XD @OwenGiraffe Hubby! Last post

...See more Hello lovely anxiety support community family! It's been awhile since I've visited this side of our community 😝 I was thinking a bit lately about the impact that music can have on our mental health. I know that for me, it serves as a good distraction for when I'm feeling anxious, or even when I'm feeling sad, music can help me to feel better! Since I've been on 7cups, I've been shown many different artists, genres, songs, etc. That got me thinking... What if we created an entire playlist together?! So here I am! Presenting to you *drumroll please* the 7 Cups Self-Care Playlist!! But wait.. I have no songs! I need your help to grow our playlist!! You can submit any songs under the following guidelines: -Cannot be vulgar/explicit. I know some songs only have a couple curse words, and it is fine as long as you submit the clean version of the song. -Please find an audio or lyric video of the song using YouTube. No music videos please!! -Instrumental songs/English only please <3 That way I can ensure the song is a appropriate for 7 cups. Hopefully you have some songs in mind! You can select any song of your choice, any genre, any artist, etc. To submit your song(s) to be added to the playlist, click >>HERE [http://goo.gl/forms/uLKvcwZ0FopjCV3E2]<< The deadline for submissions is Sep. 4th, and the full playlist will be posted on Sep. 5th! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me! @Kate @bunnypants @summertimeSamness @AnyaS @River @emsworld @Erato @Rose @IIAlexeyII @ArwaS @Alice @CaringBrit @Lucy @Zammmn @RaCat @BrooklynM @PhoenixAsh
