...See more They really help getting me to sleep, and they've saved me quite a few times when I needed some space from my own head. Two of my favorites are La Horla by Guy de Maupassant and The Machine Stops by E.M Forster . What are some of your favorite short stories? Are there any you've read recently that left their mark on you?  Long enough for a glimpse, small enough so the mind can wander. :)
