How Do You Escape?
Relationship Stress / by IGuessIAmAPlatypus

...See more How does one even break up with a person? I can't articulate well verbally so I mainly express myself in writing but everyone acts like text messages and letters are a cowardly way to break up. Well, I don't really care if I'm being cowardly. All I know is everything inside of me is saying fly away. The only thing making me hesitate is I know he'll get hurt and he'll miss me but I can't do this anymore. I'm getting hurt and I'm not happy. There are a hundred things I want that he won't let me have. I can't express myself, I can't defend myself with him. I haven't loved him in I don't know how long. We are not friends. I don't think I even like him. I've never broken up before and I'm nervous and I feel guilty all the time even though I haven't done it yet. We've been together for 5 years, or it would be 5 years in July. I want to be free. I want so much to be free. I wish he didn't love me so i could go without hurting anybody. As I've said before in a letter, "I wish I could do this without hurting you. I wish I could do that without hurting me."

...See more I thought it would cut down the amount of sugar and caffeine I was consuming. It's been a few months, and now if I try to drink soda I get bad stomach cramps, gas, and a headache. I used to basically only drink soda, especially dark colas, for years and years, but now carbonated drinks are just plain unappealing. Once in a while I'll have a Coke if I go out somewhere nice, but for the most part, it's tea, milk, or water for me. Guess I can safely say I kicked the habit. Years ago, during my first year of college, I stopped drinking soda and switched to milk with every meal. I lost ten pounds by the end of that year. This time, I'm gaining weight. It isn't a problem now (unless you ask the bmi chart, but that thing lies) but it will be in about twenty years. Both sides of my family are prone to obesity, especially the women and especially around middle age, so I'm trying to start getting into healthier habits while I'm still young, so that hopefully I can keep those healthy habits further into adulthood and avoid post-menopausal obesity and the effects it has on health. It only gets harder to stay healthy the older one gets, as I understand it, so I figure the best time to start is now. So far, soda down. Up next, actually eating vegetables.
What do the colors on the letters mean?

...See more So I've been wondering at the color of everyone's letters (the people who don't have photos on their profiles, who just have their first letter from their username; mine is a red I). Is the color related to the level of distress you indicate when registering? Because I don't want to be red forever, I'm not a big fan of red. I was just having a really bad night/week/two months, and I'd really like to be more like green or blue now. I'm like not distressed at all. I'm happy, yo. But is that what decides the color or is it random or what?
