...See more Greets to all. So I'm 25 and about three or so years ago I got diagnosed with OCPD. The doctor who diagnosed me didn't really explain to me what it was, nor how it can be dealt with (and he upset me pretty badly, so I really wasn't in the state of mind to ask questions). I've done a lot of reading online to help me understand my particular flavour of messed up, but without access to a medical professional (I haven't been back to any sort of psychiatrist / psychologist since then due to financial reasons) or having ever met anyone else with OCPD, I don't really know what's a part of it (i.e., if some of the other problems I deal with are just symptoms of the personality disorder), what's not, or how to deal with it better than I do. I've also run into the problem of while searching for resources on how to help myself out, I've only found things for normal people who have to deal with us, talking about how terrible we are to live with, how we can never have a successful career, and how we're bad at forming relationships -- all because of how screwed up we apparently are. Naturally this is a little discouraging to me as someone who desperately wants to build a career for herself and would like to one day have a solid, stable relationship. So my question is (and please excuse the meme): am I the only one around here with OCPD? Those who have it, would you mind sharing some of your symptoms, and maybe some tips on how you handle it? Is there any hope for us? Vielen Dank & einen schönen Tag wünsch ich euch allen!
