Why do we want to go hide in a hole

...See more Why is it that we want to find a nice deep dark comfy hole to hide in when we feel sad, scared, depressed, or any other related thing. It is a question that I've had for a long time but have never gotten an answer to that makes sence. the first thing I came up with was burrowing animals but munkies don't burrow (orangutans if you want to be spasific) and other than that it is so we can hide from problems. I was curious if any of you amazing people here had a better answer than those?
