I was in active addiction for 30 years with various substances, mainly with pharmaceutical drugs and alcohol. In these years I have never had a clean period of more than a couple of months. The last 10 years was complete alcohol addiction 24x7

I finally hit bottom in 2022 with Grade 2 liver cirrhosis with GI bleeding with hospitalisation and near death with liver transplant assessment. I followed it up with 6 months inpatient rehab based on a 12 step program, was clean for a year and relapsed on only benzos for about 2 weeks. I quit it all on 23rd Aug 2022 with a further 5 months of rehab. I am healthy, happy and feel totally spiritually awake today and wish to help others. I often go back to the rehab centre to share my experience, strength and hope with others.
