...See more Hello, Im 22. I have been diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder and Panic disorder for a bit over a year now, but I was struggling with both for much longer than that. I had only few appointments with my psychiatrist before he left the country and went away to work somewhere else. After that I found it difficult to push myself to go see another psychiatrist or psychologist, especially that my family are very unsupportive (and I dont really have friends from whom I would get support) The few appointments I had with my psychiatrist were really helpful and helped me gain insight, however i am having doubts of weather I can trust (and open up to) another psychiatrist and if they would be able to help me. Ive been reading a lot about BPD which is helping me to improve the quality of my life but I still feel the need to go talk to someone who understands, but yet again I keep thinking if what people are saying is right, that i dont need therapy. Maybe I can just help myself? Maybe the therapist wont be able to help me? What should I do? Stick to reading books about BPD and helping myself or ask for a therapist help too?
