Automatic Scroll-down in Group Support Chats

...See more Almost everyone that I talk to in group chat feels the automatic scroll-down mechanic is superfluous and, often, frustrating. I feel that if you scroll up, you should scroll freely and it should only scroll down automatically if you scroll to the bottom again. I may be a little vague in how I explain this, but I have never been great with words. If someone else can understand this and explain it better or if anyone wants to add anything, feel free.
