You Come First.

ZaraSmiles November 1st, 2015

Hey there, sweet one. Would it be possible for you to take 2 minutes just to read this letter? I'm specifically addressing it to you.

You have work to do? Classes to endure? Exams to study for? Duties to complete? Well, guess what? I'm heck of a lot proud of you for being able to go to all those. I really am. Mental illnesses can be torture, yet you're braving it and being amazing while doing it. But please, my lovely flower, please remember these 3 words: you come first. That's right. Above all, YOU are your first priority.

I know, maybe that essay is due tomorrow and you haven't had any time to finish it. I understand that you have so many tasks to get through. But if you're not feeling too good, is it okay to strain your health? Your health comes first before any of these responsibilities. You have a responsibility to yourself, m'dear, to take care of yourself.

I know that society may judge you on your priorities, on your marks, on your performance. But you're going to be around for quite a while, you may as well look after your body while you're at it, am I right? You deserve a break. You deserve less pressure. It's okay to take some time to breathe and focus on yourself. I'm proud of you, no matter what. Everyone in this community is proud of you for making it through. You are wonderful.

Lots of love,

Zara

PS. Have I told you how amazing you are today?

@ZaraSmiles this is such a lovely letter, and really inspiring. It's helpful for everyone to remember that no matter who we are and what we have to do, it's important to take care of ourselves. Our number one priority should be taking care of ourselves, mentally, physically, just overall. We are all important and every single person deserves to hear that.

This is just one of the reasons why you are my dovey heart

Hello! Youve found a clue for the Pen Pals event for Mental Health Awareness Month. This is a clue for Motivation, the clue was 'this thread is helpful for everyone to remember that no matter who we are and what we have to do, its important to take care of ourselves' and the term is priority! Thank you for participating.

You brought me to tears! Everyone needs to know this! To stand up again, we all need to replenish, whether it be doing something you enjoy (like watching a show, or indulging in your favorite food), or some sort of exercise (physical or mental through journaling/meditating), we need it, and we deserve it!
