...See more HEY EVERYONE! WELCOME TO "WELLNESS WEDNESDAY"~  And IT's "WORLD KINDNESS DAY"~ "Happy World Kindness Day"! As you work toward your health goals, it's crucial to adopt a mindset of kindness — not just to others and the planet, but most importantly, to yourself. You matter, and your progress is worth celebrating! Here are some simple kindness tips to embrace today and carry with you throughout the remaining days of the year: 1) Be kind to your body. Next time you're in front of the mirror, say something nice to yourself 2) Stay in your lane. Don't get caught up comparing your progress to others. Your body, your path, your pace — it's all uniquely yours, and that's what makes it special. 3) Practice mindfulness Be kind to your body and your soul by slowing down and being mindful in the moment. 4) Give yourself the gift of exercise. There's no better way to invest in your future self. Start with some easy-paced walks and then gradually work in resistance training. Be kind to your muscles — they're there to support you! 5) Spread kind words.  Community is all about  making kindness contagious... Don't be shy — get involved, share your journey, and lift up others with your words. Remember... Embracing kindness can supercharge your weight loss journey & make living a Healthy Lifestyle feel like second nature.... So go on out & spread some Kindness! "QUESTION" What CAN YOU DO "TODAY" (& beyond) TO BE KIND TO YOURSELF (OR SPREAD KINDNESS TO OTHERS) To Help Supercharge Your Own "Healthy Living & Wellness Journey"?! ...See more I'm sure most of us that follow this community are mindful of what we eat, try to eat properly, diet, exercise, etc, etc.  Some try to avoid sweets(sugar), carbs, junk food, whatever it is that our "diet" or health needs us to avoid.  Me....I am flirting with high cholesterol....on the borderline according to my last blood work....I am taking steps and reading labels, changing things...doing the right thing....label reading is a new thing for me....one thing I realized this morning while trying track some of things I put in my body is the amount of caffeine I actually consume on the daily....we all joke about needing our coffee to survive....but when reading labels, I was dumbfounded by all the caffeine I put into my system....here is a regular day for me....I won't share the MG's of caffeine in each product, but I will share the drinks....they all contain caffeine.... I start the morning by downing an 8 oz v8 energy drink....get a shot of caffeine with my fruits and veggies right off the rip.....then I sip on a 16 oz cup of Maxwell house coffee while at work...If I drink it hot the 16 oz will do....If I make an Iced coffee, its 32 oz.... at some point in the morning I have my pre-workout amino energy/hydration mix that I sip on through out the morning (2 scoops mixed with 32 oz of ice and water) so that it is in my system when I get home from work for my workout....then, if doing a long bike ride or hard lifting session, I take a carbohydrate, electrolyte, energy gel or jelly beans, depending on what I'd rather have that day, halfway through the workout....and finally I usually have some sort of flavored Lipton green tea from the bottle with my dinner.... Thats a ton load of caffeine in a day.....no wonder I sleep like crap....I'd like to back it down, but I do suffer from migraines and am afraid the lack of caffeine will make them more frequent...I've been doing this routine for a number of years, so my body is probably used to it.....so now I'm at an impasse....not sure what to do.... I share all this because if any of you have any ideas, or weaned yourself off of caffeine, I'd like to hear your story.....or maybe just a topic for discussion.....feel free to join and comment.....

Overwhelming Nutritional Information

...See more Hello! So, I started finally exercising recently and something I did want to make sure to adjust was my diet as well. Now I already consumed a decent diet (vegetables, fruits, meats) without having a ton of food with added sugars. However, I feel like I cannot look at food the same now anymore! I've become a little obsessive about what is actually in everything I eat, that its becoming slightly overwhelming honestly. One example is sugar. I thought I was consuming a moderate amount of it, but I looked at my BBQ sauce and was blown away that it had about as much added sugar as a candy bar! Even things that were promoted as 'healthy' like granola bars aren't the healthiest thing due to just how much sugar they add. I've slowly realized that everything I eat whether it be ketchup or bread has some sugar in it. It's like my entire food life has been a lie. How do I deal with this?

Cheri’s Connection Corner - Hunger Physical vs Emotional

...See more Good day healthy living cupsers🙌🙌🙌💕💕💕 Hunger in your health journey often becomes a signal your body requires food that helps nourish your body.  There is another type of hunger … emotional hunger often because situations or time or stress triggers the urge to have food to satisfy that trigger.  For instance, if you are used to eating at a certain time and move to strategy to eat when you feel hungry you may indeed find that change difficult because of the pattern you previously had.  Some people eat more or eat less when life becomes more stressful.  Reflect on your hunger cues and answer any question(s) below.  All responses are appreciated.  What is a common trigger for emotional hunger for you?  What are some strategies to address emotional hunger in a healthy way? How does emotional hunger impact our relationship with food compared to physical hunger? How does recognizing the difference between emotional and physical hunger contribute to overall well-being? Can you share examples of how emotional hunger can be mistaken for physical hunger, and vice versa?

...See more Good day healthy living Cupsers! 💦💦💦 Hydration is very important! Often it is common to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. The debate on how much is different depending on the source. Tip: One key thing to know if you are adequately hydrated your urine is very light in color.  Often we think of water during the day however you can get hydration from foods as well!  Are you adequately hydrated? How much water do you drink daily? Do you consume any of the foods listed? Did you know that foods can provide hydration??

Question: Healthy Alternatives to Coffee/Caffeine?
by ImpudentIncognito
Last post
May 14th
...See more Do you know some healthy drink alternatives to caffeine/coffee? I shouldn't be drinking caffeine anymore due to my health problem (chest pain) but am not sure what else to drink... I drink a lot of water throughout the day, but it gets boring...I also force myself to drink (lactose-free) dairy milk occasionally to get calcium -- I don't like the taste of dairy to be honest, but my son LOVES dairy -- but since he's lactose-intolerant, I get lactose-free products. I like almond & soy milk, but unsure if that'll be giving me all of the health benefits I would get from dairy milk... I used to drink a LOT of orange juice and lemonade, but was educated on how much sugar those drinks truly have, so it's not really healthy.... I hardly ever allow my son (who is preschool to kindergarten-aged) to have those types of drinks. He has water, electrolyte drinks, and milk. (Idk if electrolyte drinks might be too much?? We live in a desert climate, and it gets to be over 38°C /100°F here...so figured it might be OK to drink this or give to son to keep hydrated -- he's outside more than I am now. I used to be out in the son for hours based on no transportation and/or job related stuff. I have stayed inside more now due to medical issues, but going to try and force myself to go on walks more often. Been afraid since one of my stalkers came by my home and was jingling my doorknob again. I can't move around hardly, but going to do small stretches. Anyways... Also curious, what is your favourite thing to drink?  I LOVE vanilla iced coffee ever since moving from an extremely cold climate to a hot climate. Before that, I would drink hot black coffee (no sugar, no cream). But...yeah...trying to quit coffee completely. I shouldn't be drinking caffeine due to health plus mental issues (extreme anxiety). I want to improve my life and work towards healthier goals. Apart from that, I do like drinking ice cold water and I don't mind drinking hot water (I know it sounds weird, but certain countries -- we drink hot water! It feels good.)
