...See more Its week two of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! This month is to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness to the barriers that people with disabilities still sometimes face in connecting to the communities in which they live, by sharing experiences. [Source [http://www.disabilityresource.org/63-developmental-disabilities-awareness-month]]. This year's theme: Side by Side ... to highlight the many ways in which people with and without developmental disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities. [Source [http://www.disabilityresource.org/63-developmental-disabilities-awareness-month]]. So what are developmental disabilities? Developmental disabilities refer to a diverse group of chronic conditions that are mental or physical in nature. They may be physical (e.g., spina bifida), they may affect mental ability (e.g., learning disabilities), or they may also be both (e.g., Down syndrome). This can result in different experiences and challenges regarding certain areas of life, particularly in language, mobility, learning, self-help, and independent living. More examples include: ADHD / ADD, autism, Asperger's syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability and muscular dystrophies. In honour of this observance, we will be highlight supportive parts of the website for those with disabilities. This includes having a variety of discussions held throughout the month related to both disability (as well as chronic illness/pain) and developmental disabilities. Each week, we will post a list of helpful spaces and discussions taking place around 7 Cups! See posts below to find out whats happening on 7 Cups to start us off between March 6 - 12th! Hope you will be able to join us in our activities this month!

...See more It's World Book Day! World Book Day is a celebration! Its a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) its a celebration of reading. In fact, its the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. [Source [http://www.worldbookday.com/about/]]. It is also their 20th anniversary of encouraging and providing opportunities for children to read! We are fortunate to be able to read and share our stories, communicating on 7 Cups through our literacy skills. This is done in English but also many different languages via the forums [https://www.7cups.com/forum/CulturalConnection_87/] and 1-on-1 chats! Being able to read can mean so many things to different people. Accessing and enjoying books of a variety of kinds can provide a great escape or eye-opener. Books and the authors and illustrators that put work into them can be inspiring, relatable, insightful, heartbreaking, and magical. In order to join the celebrations, we have put together a few things you can enjoy! ...See more Hello everyone We are organising an event for Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! What are developmental disabilities? Developmental disabilities are long-term conditions. They may be physical, such as blindness. They may affect mental ability, such as learning disorders. Or they can be both physical and mental, such as Down syndrome. These are usually life-long, and can affect everyday living. Other examples included: ADHD / ADD, autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability, muscular dystrophies and spina bifida. We hope to bring even more activity to the Disabilities Support chatroom and forums, as well as to highlight what it has to share! So how are we going to honour this observance? Discussions: We are planning to host a variety of discussions. These discussions include general discussions relating to disability (and chronic illness/pain) as well as those that focus on developmental disabilities. We hope that these will happen throughout the month of March! The schedule for March is available for discussion leaders to sign up on the discussion spreadsheet [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1--W39vmfGyLxLx-lptr71V1O4kYPZ34HLKIY5yVj5GM/edit?usp=sharing]. Feedback & Reviews
QuickJazz is a wonderful, compassionate Listener!
Jazz - you are amazing! Thank you so much for being there for me.
Super smart and she really knows what's she's talking about, what a great listener
Fantastic
thx for the chat
Quickjazz was great to talk to. She took the time to write out long, thoughtful replies to everything I said. She was reassuring, compassionate, and supportive, while at the same time offering her own insight and problem solving skills. She made me feel like I was on the right path and gave me more faith in myself.
Jazz is the best and most amazing person out there, I honestly don't know what I would've done without her, she is the best listener ever, words cannot explain how fantastic she is. She have saved me from the pain. Before, all I could see was this blackhole but she has helped me see beyond that. She helped me find ways to overcome my issues and even though I am a very messed up person, she didn't give up on me. Jazz is the best and I am so grateful that she listened to me. Thank you so much, you have touched me in a place that I no longer thought existed.
I appreciate her response which was very good. Thank you.
Very compassionate, calm and collected. Jazz really took her time to genuinely listen to my problems, I just really need to get things out and she was there to just sit tight and listen. Thank you, you were more than amazing. x
